About Animalick

Furniture that behaves like art.

Animalick is a hand-painted furniture studio based in Antwerp. Each piece begins as an idea for a painting and becomes a sculptural object — a stool, console or side table — designed to live with you for years, not seasons.

Founded by interior creative Ann Dierick and realised in collaboration with artist Pablo Piatti, Animalick explores the space where colour, pattern and function meet.

Studio

A small collection with a big personality.

Animalick pieces are created in intimate quantities. Rather than follow trends or seasons, the collection grows like a series of paintings — variations on a shape, a colour story, a mood.

Each base is carefully chosen for its proportions and lines. Once the form is set, it becomes a canvas: a place for Pablo’s layered brushwork, shifting gradients and playful motifs.

The result is furniture that feels alive in a room. A stool that catches the light like a glossy panel, a console that quietly anchors a hallway, a side table that behaves like a sculpture.

Founder & Curator

Ann Dierick

Ann started Animalick from a desire to bring more character and joy into interiors. With a background in creative direction and a sharp eye for atmosphere, she treats each piece as part of a larger story: how it sits in a space, how it shifts the mood, how it invites people in.

Her role is to frame the world of Animalick — choosing bases, developing concepts and helping clients find the piece that feels like it was always meant to be there.

Artist

Pablo Piatti

Pablo brings a painter’s sensibility to every Animalick piece. Known for his expressive use of colour and rhythmic compositions, he moves instinctively between gesture and precision, letting the curves and edges of the furniture guide the flow of paint.

His work for Animalick is about dialogue — between object and artwork, between surface and space, between the piece and the person who lives with it.

“I think of the furniture as architecture for the painting. The form tells me where the colour wants to go.”

Process

From idea to high-gloss piece.

Every Animalick piece passes through a simple, careful sequence — slow enough to allow intuition, precise enough to feel considered.

Choosing the form

Ann selects the base — stool, console or table — whose proportions and lines suit the idea for a painting.

02 · Story

Colour & mood

A palette and mood are developed: calm, bold, playful or quietly dramatic, always in dialogue with interiors.

03 · Painting

Layers by hand

Pablo paints each piece freehand, building layers until the surface feels balanced, alive and unmistakably his.

04 · Finish

Gloss & signature

The work is sealed in a luminous high-gloss finish, signed and prepared to become part of a home or project.
